ALL THE LONELY ELEMENTS

Tune: Eleanor Rigby
From: The Beatles

By Amy J Handler and Amanda Baumgart Evanston Township High School
Evanston, IL

Ah, look at all the lonely elements
Ah, look at all the lonely elements

Silicon, silver, titanium, mercury, magnesium, tin
And manganese
All had no order, then Mendeleev came and put them in a table
Cause he was able

All the lonely elements
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely elements
Where do they all belong?

Chemist Mendeleev, weighing the atoms, and then noticing a pattern
Solving the puzzle
Atomic numbers an radii helped decide where they all belong
Though it took long!

All the lonely elements
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely elements
Where do they all belong?
Ah, look at all the lonely elements
Ah, look at all the lonely elements

In 1907, Mendeleev died and left a long legacy
Named after he,
Was his own element, named Mendelevium, number 101
Wasn't this fun?

All the happy elements
Now we know where they're from
All the happy elements
That's where they all belong!
