Survive with the Safety Five
Christy and Liz
Cape Elizabeth Middle School, Cape Elizabeth, ME
Science is very important to our fast-growing world of technology. One area
of science
that plays a large role in our future is electricity. When dealing with
elements of
electricity, it's extremely necessary for middle-school students to
remember to use good
safety. Our song, "Survive with the Safety Five," help convey to students
the five most
important aspects of electrical safety. Having recently studied
electricity, we were
inspired to share this message when we learned of the devastating effects
irresponsible
electrical use can have. We hope sharing our song with middle-school
students across the
country will make a big difference to everyone.
Survive with the Safety Five
(To the tune of "I Will Survive" by Gloria
Gaynor 1979)
At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinkin' I would soon become electrified
But then I learned the five rules of electrical safety
And I grew strong, now those wires can't hurt me!
Go on now, go! Learn the safety five
Don't touch frayed wires, overload outlets
And I know you'll stay alive!
Don't stick your fingers into sockets don't run wires under carpets
And don't mix H20 with electricity, hey, hey
I will survive! Oh, as long as I know the safety five I know I'll stay
alive!
I got all my life to live with electrical safety
And I'll survive, I will survive, hey, hey!
It took all the strength I had to learn the safety rules
Anyone who doesn't know them is really uncool
You gotta learn, if you wanna stay alive
You will survive, if you know the safety five!
Go on now, go! Learn the safety five
Don't touch frayed wires, overload outlets
And I know you'll stay alive!
Don't stick your fingers into sockets don't run wires under carpets
And don't mix H20 with electricity, hey, hey
I will survive! As long as I know the safety five I know I'll stay alive!
I got all my life to live with electrical safety
And I'll survive, I will survive, hey, hey!
